Help with BPT 3000 Units
For those who already have a BPT3000, here are one or two tips that you can
try, before deciding that yours really has
developed a fault, and needs to be sent to us.
Test the communication using Hyperterminal (or Terminal for w3.1 users)
Run Hyperterminal from Accessories
If requested for new name , use bpt
When window open, click properties
The drop down list at 'connect using' should be set to 'direct to com 1' (or
whichever port you have available)
Click on Configure
Set 'port settings' to;- 9600, 8, none, 1, xon/xoff
click OK
If you now click on 'connect' the computer will communicate with the BPT
(provided you have switched on the power, and
connected the leads!)
To test the communications, enter the following;-
i000000000085
(this will be entered blind, there will be no screen echo)
the BPT should respond with;-
U010000000066
U00bMcP0xxxxx (where xxxxx is the firmaware serial number)
If all this happens, your communications are OK!!
If you still have problems, then maybe you should send it to us. If you
require a unit to loan whilst yours is being attended to, let
us know. Also, if the problems are related to communication, then it may
well be worth sending the computer yyou use along
with the unit, so that we can test the whole system.
Whatever you decide, give us a call, and we will do our best to help. |
